As a DTRA Network Administrator Senior Advisor you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.
Our work depends on DTRA Network Administrator Senior Advisor joining our team to DTRA is the Executive Agent for the Joint Staff Nuclear Weapons Stockpile Manager and is assigned the responsibility for maintaining the DoDs national nuclear weapons stockpile database using the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS) application.
Network Systems Administration provides network administration for maintaining the computing environment using Cisco Networking Devices, remote access VPN, Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems/Intrusion Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), Network Monitoring Software, and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Evaluates existing network systems to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements.
Analyzes customer requirements to determine optimal network solutions.
Monitors network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network.
Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has considerable authority to deviate from standard operating procedures.

This is a small Network shop, 2-VA and 2-Albuquerque, that works closely with the Cyber and Enterprise team.
Our biggest challenge, cyber compliance, isn t unique but it is vital to the operation of the two networks.
This is arguably gets the highest visibility within DTRA and the Joint Staff.
Our skill as a Network Engineer will ensure vulnerabilities have been remediated, outages are quickly resolved, and new technology is being incorporated.
What You ll Need to Succeed:
Education:
BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 8-10
years of experienceRequired Certifications:
DoD 8570 IAT Level II (ex.
CompTIA Security
w/CE, CCNA-Security, etc.
)Required
Experience:
8-10
years of related Network Administration experience and ability to manage a hybrid, geographically separated team.
Required Technical Skills:
Included but not limited to, Cisco switches, TACLANES, IP Address Management, SolarWinds, Gigamon, network security, patch management, STIGs, IAVM, ACLs, IPSec, NIST publications, JIRA, etc.
Security Clearance Level:
Fully adjudicated Secret to start w/TS SCI eligibility; prefer TS to start.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Engineering network architecture and develop network design documentation.
Supporting system installations, problem solving and testing to ensure the availability, validity and reliability of the DSMS networks.
Establishing network specifications; analyzing network traffic and diagnoses connectivity issues, access, information, and security requirements; designs router administration including interface configuration and routing protocols.
Act as co-lead in defining and executing network engineering activities within a project.
Provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of network development from analysis of mission needs to verification of network performance.
Performing system modernization / lifecycle refresh of networked systems to include researching, proof of concept, testing, installing deploying, and maintaining equipment.
Evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; plans and executes the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
Maintaining network performance; performs network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshoots network problems.
Extensive experience troubleshooting, managing and monitoring the health of Cisco switches.
Location:
This position is in Albuquerque, NM or Fort Belvoir, VA and is hybrid.
Because of classification issues, hybrid is mission specific.
