Auditor with Security Clearance

The Department of the Army, Field Operating Offices of the Office of the Secretary of the Army, has immediate openings for an experienced Auditor! This is a GS-12, civil service opportunity!
Summary:
The right candidate will serve as an Auditor assigned to execute a variety of engagements that require sound knowledge of auditing techniques and skills necessary to independently plan and conduct audits of operational program.
Results are reviewed for overall approach, effectiveness in meeting requirements, and suitability of conclusions and recommendations.
The incumbent is assigned to a complex single location audit (SLA) or multi-location audits (MLA) and reports to an Auditor-in-Charge (AIC).

Essential Functions:
o Identify research sources to determine information necessary to conduct audits in assigned area.
o Establish time controls for audit objectives.
o Prepare entrance conference briefings with client.
o Maintain effective relationships with higher management throughout the audit.
o Perform evaluation of audit area in accordance with generally accepted audit standards.
o Determine credibility of data and evidence.
o Analyze audit results to make recommendations.
o Adjust survey program, scope and/or methodology as required.
o Prepare audit program covering significant problems identified during the survey.
o Identify and substantiate potential findings.
o Document audit results in accordance with regulatory standards.
o Develop a draft audit summary and/or report in accordance with policies.
o Present audit results for assigned areas to management.
Required Education and
Experience:
o Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in accounting; or in a related field such as, Business Administration, Finance, or Public Administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
The 24 semester hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in Business law.
o Combination of Education and
Experience:
Must include at least 4 years of experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
o At least 1 year of experience of government auditing o Experience assisting in analyzing auditing information for solutions; or assisting in conducting financial audits; or assisting in assessing the detection of financial waste; or assisting in examining the appraisal of financial records.
o Experience in assisting in conducting audits, assisting in developing audit plans, and preparing audit reports.
o Experience in planning audits.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
