PLUMBER / MAINTENANCE MECHANIC with Security Clearance

is seeking a highly motivated Plumber / Maintenance Mechanic for the daytime shift to in support of an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract in Ft.
Belvoir, VA.
Candidate shall have at least five (5) years of journey-level experience in a trade or occupation in maintenance and building repairs for installed plumbing systems and fixtures, and each installed system that includes water, air, and other piping (e.
g.
, HVAC boilers and chillers, fire suppression systems, storm water and sewer systems, and domestic water pipes and equipment).
.
Must have a plumber license from VA, DC, or MD.
Mechanical experience should include working on pumps, motors, fans, pipe fitting, supply water pipe repairs, and drain pipe repairs, to name a few.
We're looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment issues, likes a challenge, can think outside the box, cross train and enjoys problem solving with other team members.
Must be US Citizens and have at least a government secret security clearance.
Job Requirements and Duties:
Understand written and oral instructions to perform the required work Perform basic building maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures at a government commercial office building Perform minor preventive maintenance functions of plumbing systems and fixtures, including backflow preventers and stormwater management systems Perform preventive maintenance duties in accordance with NVE standards, building protocol, manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices for HVAC systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, flushing condensers, punching tubes, greasing fan, pump, and motor bearings as required, inspecting, and adjusting belts, replacing motor bearings, aligning pulleys and shafts, monitor condenser, chilled, heating, and secondary water chemical treatment and its associated feed equipment, clean and maintain cooling towers, and perform annual inspections and other scheduled routines as directed.
Responsible for maintaining, responding to service request, as needed under guidance of the PM, Chief Engineer, or Supervisor.
Performs tours of areas and/or equipment as directed by management and required under the contract specification.
Performs service calls, diagnostic services, and incidental, minor, and major repairs as required.
Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
Perform emergency repairs and available for after hour and weekend repairs.
Work effectively with the customer, building tenants and other team members.
Ability to troubleshoot, complete work order assigned in a timely matter.
Performs other duties as required or directed by management.
Qualifications for the position include:
High School or Equivalent (at a minimum) Ability to read blueprints and generate design concepts using available tools.
Journeyman Plumber License (must be maintained for continued employment) OSHA 30 desired An existing Secret Clearance (or TS) US Citizen Capable with basic office equipment to include cell phone, tablet, telephone, fax and copy scanner.
This is a Local 99 Union Position, must be willing to join the Union if not already a member.
