The position will support a 2nd shift at the customer site. The primary role of this position will be supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) by performing the duties of an Operations Tier Level II Technician who will be responsible for performing Tier II application, network, equipment and systems oversight for an established Full Motion Video (FMV) system. The Primary tasks include hands-on application, network and systems management, administration, and advanced architecture troubleshooting as part of a team of contract and government engineering professionals. The candidate will be responsible for resolving issues directly with Intelligence Community (IC) customers, investigating issues, and elevating as necessary to the Tier III technical support group. Successful candidates will work with multicast content distribution, imagery dissemination, video processing and archiving, and other cutting-edge technologies. Our primary focus is finding candidates with potential who can adapt to a dynamic environment and should be results-oriented and must have a strong desire to work in a team environment. Up to 100% of the time will be spent onsite at Springfield, VA/Ft. Belvoir. Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Supporting a large-scale full motion video architecture and preemptively responding to and fixing issues with the application portal, supporting hosting environment and networking backbone Diagnosing system issues, fault isolation and service restoration Utilizing network related protocols and services as well as LAN/WAN implementation and troubleshooting Identifying documenting, tracking and escalating issues to the Tier III support group as necessary Providing internal and external customers with responsive, concise and accurate status or service updates, issues and risks Interacting in a technical team environment with software, network and systems engineers Providing assistance with large scale system and architecture implementation and operational support Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in system engineering or related technical discipline, plus two years of related experience, or similar experience with web-based technologies, virtual operating environments (such as VMWare), and most common operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc). Knowledge of WAN environments and supporting infrastructure. Candidate should be familiar with fundamentals of troubleshooting, fault isolation, and service restoration. Knowledge of network architectures. Familiarity with full motion video technologies a plus. Strong communication and customer service. Must be comfortable working rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 basis. US Citizenship required. Must have an active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
